Born on 3 October 1984 in Tychy. He graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice with a degree in political science. As an athlete, he was many times a member of the Polish national team in the 400m race. He was twice a silver medallist in the Polish Athletics Junior Championships in 2005 and 2006; a gold medallist in 4×400 metre relay in the 2005 European Athletics Junior Championships in Erfurt; a gold and silver medallist in the Summer Universiade in Bangkok (2007) and Belgrade (2009), respectively. In 2007 he won a bronze medal in the World Athletics Championships in Osaka. In 2008 he received the Mayor of Tychy’s award for merit in sport and culture. In 2009, he was the youngest ever delegate to the reporting and electoral assembly of the Polish Athletics Association, where he represented the Silesian Athletics Association.
In 2012 he officially ended his sports career. He became active in the public relations sector and delivered training courses in media relations and image management; he cooperated with leading Polish companies on advertising production creation and PR strategy building.
On 16 November 2015 he was appointed Minister of Sport and Tourism in the government of Prime Minister Beata Szydło.
He still practises sport, for example, he runs marathons.
